Description
A bezant voided Azure winged inverted fesswise with then bolts of lightning rayonn Or on and within an annulet of the second, on lower half of annulet the motto PATA CONCITA FULMNT NATI of the third.

Symbolism
The charge and motto are taken from the Tallmadges Dragoons flag.  The Tallmadge Dragoons was a well known organization of Connecticut, commanded by Major Tallmadge during the Revolutionary War period.

Background
The distinctive unit insignia was approved on 11 March 1927.

Azure, a bezant voided of the field winged inverted fesswise with ten bolts of lightning rayonn Or.

Crest

That for the regiments and separate battalions of the Army Reserve:  On a wreath of the colors Or and Azure, the Lexington Minute Man Proper.  The statute of the Minute Man, Captain John Parker (H.H. Kitson, sculptor), stands on the Common in Lexington, Massachusetts.

Motto

PATA CONCITA FULMNT NATI (The Fatherland Having Been Aroused, Its Sons Thunder Forth).
